Hi could you give me any solution. Cos my wd passport was working fine. I keeped a lot of files in it. And know I upgrade my mac operating system to OS X Yosemite and my WD was working with this system all so. but just first day. and next day then I tryed to connect it. it didnt mount on the desktop and even in disk utility. And its very strange cos then I connect it to usb the light is flashing and I hear the sound thet its working but just not mounting. please give me an answer how is possible to save my files. thanks

The recent Western Digital 'easy store' and 'My Book' hard drives have a Mac Sierra 10.12.6 issue: They are invisible to the Desktop. WD Utilities says my two drives check out ok; Mac Utilities recognizes both hard drives. Going to the Mac Genius Bar on Monday. BestBuy sold me the original WD easystore 8T and WD sent me a My Book 8T. Program that mages wifi for mac. I'm not sure if I can help, but here was my situation. For some unknown reason my WD 1TB suddenly stopped 'mounting.' I'm using MacOS version 10.13.4 (High Sierra). I found one of my older forensic applications called Disk Arbitrator.

This seems to be a common problem but not yet found a way to fix it.

The WD SmartWare does appear on my desktop but the drive doesn’t. I can access files on WD SmartWare but takes its time.

I tried to unlock the drive from WD SmartWare, said its already unlocked.

I have used Disk Utility > First Aid.

When Verfying Disk the following error message appears:

“Error: The disk needs to be repaired. Click Repair Disk.”

When clicking on Repair disk “Volume repair complete” appears quickly hangs on “Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required”.

Tried this on my other Mac, same thing. Don’t have a windows computer to run the program WD advised on their site.
